The most important feature in my Valentine’s app wasn’t AI. It was photo approval. I built a mobile "dating through the decades" app for my girlfriend. Not to launch a startup. To test something: Can AI help you ship a real product in a week... without abandoning product discipline? I built “Datecade.com (https://Datecade.com)” 9 decades. Guided date nights. Playlists. Photo uploads. Private journals. Public share page. Auth. Partner linking. Real infrastructure. But the feature I’m most proud of? Photo approval. Because every couple has this moment: He uploads a “great” photo. She disagrees. It’s already public. So photos stay pending until the partner approves. No approval → no public visibility. Simple. But it protects the relationship. AI made coding fast. Product thinking made it good.
