Data to Design: Clarity, Precision, Craft

The market looks clean, calm, and cluttered — everyone’s selling balance, mindfulness, and magnesium. But I don’t start with the moodboard. I look at the data. I pulled 67 trending TikTok videos from the last 3 months across: wellness, longevity, beauty, and health. Together: 75.7M views, 7.3M likes, 99.8K comments. Then I sorted the comments by depth of conversation and engagement. From that, I’d build VitaSync. Personalized vitamins that sync with mood, sleep, and daily rhythm. Not just “feel better” — feel understood. Because the next era of wellness isn’t aesthetic — it’s adaptive. The point: Don’t start with trends. Start with signals. Signals → Design → Product. Curious how this could shape your next brand? Let’s talk.

Imagine you’re starting a coffee brand. The market is oversaturated. Where do you even look? I look at the data. I pulled 120 trending TikTok videos from the last 7 days. 928M views. 462K comments. Then I sorted comments by depth of conversation and likes. The insights? – Menus feel like hieroglyphs – $7 coffee stings – Rituals are broken but deeply emotional From that, I created Grounded. Eco-friendly kits. Custom blends. Health-driven rituals. This is the point: Don’t start with a moodboard. Start with signals. Signals → Design → Product. Curious how this method might apply to your market? Let’s talk.

I pulled wine data while exploring a potential client space. Not to pitch — to understand what’s actually changing. I analyzed 120 trending wine videos. 342M views. 149K comments. After filtering spam and shallow replies, I ended up with 1,200 high-signal comments. What people were really talking about: – “How much is too much?” – “Red wine makes my face swell.” – “It felt like a fine line.” So instead of starting with branding ideas,I used those signals to design a new wine brand concept. Clear labels. Alcohol %, sulfites, pairing, occasion. Wine you can evaluate before you pour. This is the point: Don’t guess what the market wants. Listen to what it’s already saying. Also used some testing for visual direction here in Instagram. Thank you everyone who is voted!

One of my favorite consulting projects: we built several new venture concepts for Ashley and turned our HQ into a full walkthrough of their future. Each room had a dedicated team and a new tech story to reveal—my role was to design the visual world that tied it all together, inspired by data flows, ML, and AI systems.

San Diego Emerging Museum Professionals - Redesign & Systems Rebuild SDEMP connects and supports museum professionals across the San Diego region. Their website had recognizable branding the board wanted to keep, but the backend made routine updates slow and difficult, and visitors weren't finding what they needed. The challenge wasn't starting over. It was making what existed actually work. What I did: Rebuilt the site architecture while preserving existing brand identity Restructured event management so board members could post updates in minutes without touching code Streamlined navigation around the three things visitors come for: events, resources, and getting involved Built a custom board member section for easy, code-free updates Upgraded accessibility to meet ADA standards Improved SEO structure and optimized site speed across mobile and desktop Result: Faster performance, more frequent event postings, and a backend the board actually uses, without losing the brand presence their audience already recognized. Built on WordPress and Breakdance, optimized for speed with a lean plugin footprint.

Mo's Stucco is a third-generation, family-owned stucco company in San Diego County with over 30 years of craftsmanship, and no website to show for it. They had the reputation. They needed the presence to match it. The goal wasn't just a website. It was a first impression they'd never had to make before, done right the first time. What I did: Built a complete WordPress site from the ground up using Breakdance Designed for mobile-first with bold visuals that let the work speak Wrote and structured service pages around how homeowners actually make hiring decisions Built a before-and-after gallery to showcase project transformations Added quote request forms and clear calls to action to convert visitors into inquiries Optimized site architecture for local SEO from day one Result: A professional online presence for the first time in three decades — built to generate leads, rank locally, and give Mo's Stucco full ownership and control going forward. Built on WordPress and Breakdance, optimized for speed with a lean plugin footprint.

Forever Balboa Park - Garden Party Event Page Forever Balboa Park needed a dedicated event page for their Garden Party, built to inform visitors, drive ticket interest, and reflect the organization's identity. I designed and developed a custom WordPress page that handled event details, imagery, and calls to action cleanly within their existing site.

Warm Heart Senior Living - New Website for a Licensed Senior Care Home Warm Heart Senior Living provides 24-hour, family-style care for seniors in San Diego. As a newly launched facility, they had no online presence, and families searching for trusted senior care had no way to find or verify them. For this audience, the website had one job: earn trust fast enough that a family picks up the phone. What I did: Designed a one-page site structured around the family decision journey, care philosophy, facility, services, proof, contact Developed compassionate copy that emphasized safety, certified caregivers, and personalized care Used warm brand tones and facility photography to create an immediate sense of home Implemented local SEO and schema markup for LocalBusiness, FAQPage, and AboutPage to improve local search visibility Added GEO optimization for AI search readiness, positioning the facility to appear in AI-generated overviews Built a custom PHP plugin to automate global schema across the site Result: Fully launched and search-optimized within one month. Increased family inquiries and phone calls, improved credibility for licensing and referrals, and a content flow that guides visitors directly to scheduling a tour. Built on WordPress and Breakdance with ACF, Rank Math, and a custom PHP plugin for schema automation.

Operational Metrics & Workflow Outcomes Framework Example of how I define and track operational performance within a structured workflow. This includes key metrics, expected outcomes, and visibility points that help ensure work is completed consistently and issues are identified early. The focus is not just on creating processes, but on making sure those processes are measurable, accountable, and actually support execution as a business scales.

Reviewed a service-based business website and customer journey to identify gaps in clarity, usability, and conversion. Focused on how a potential customer experiences the business — from first impression through inquiry — and where friction or confusion may impact decision-making. Identified issues around messaging, navigation, and overall structure that made it harder for customers to clearly understand the value or take the next step. Provided practical recommendations to simplify the experience, improve communication, and create a more intuitive path from interest to action. The goal was to strengthen the customer experience while supporting better conversion and more consistent engagement.

Reviewed a service-based business to identify gaps across operations and customer experience. This audit focused on how work was actually functioning day-to-day — including communication, workflow consistency, and service delivery. Identified key friction points such as inconsistent processes, over-reliance on manual coordination, and lack of clear structure across tasks and teams. Provided practical recommendations to simplify workflows, improve consistency, and create a more scalable operating model. The goal was to reduce inefficiencies, strengthen execution, and improve the overall customer experience through clearer systems and better alignment.

This is an example of a client onboarding and job execution workflow I built to bring more structure and clarity into day-to-day operations. The goal was to reduce bottlenecks, improve communication, and create a more consistent process from intake through completion. This is the type of system that helps businesses run more efficiently as they grow.
