Talent Acquisition | HR Operations | Remote

“But you’re working from the Philippines.” Sometimes, that sentence becomes the reason why a skilled professional is offered significantly less. And I think we need to talk about that. The Philippines has become one of the go-to places for Virtual Assistants and remote professionals—and there’s a good reason for it. We have talented people working in customer service, executive assistance, recruitment, sales, bookkeeping, marketing, operations, and many other fields. Many of them bring years of experience. They work night shifts to match their client’s timezone. They invest in their own equipment, internet, backup connections, and workspace. They learn new tools and adapt to different industries. And yes, the cost of living may be different here. But location should not automatically determine the value of someone’s skills. There’s a difference between hiring globally because it makes financial sense and hiring someone simply because you believe they’ll accept almost anything. Fair compensation doesn’t necessarily mean paying everyone the exact same rate regardless of location. It means looking at the skills, experience, responsibilities, workload, and value a person actually brings to the business. As someone working in HR and recruitment, I understand that businesses have budgets. But I also understand the other side of the table. Behind every “affordable offshore talent” is still a professional trying to build a career, support a family, and create a better future. Hire globally because you found great talent. Not because you found cheap labor. There’s a big difference. #VirtualAssistant #FilipinoVA #RemoteWork #Recruitment #HumanResources #FairPay #FilipinoProfessionals #FutureOfWork

You can tell a lot about a person by how they treat people they don’t need anything from. Professionalism isn’t only about how you speak to your boss, your client, or someone who can help your career. It also shows in how you treat the applicant who didn’t get the job. The new employee who is still learning. The colleague who made a mistake. The person who followed up twice because they were waiting for your response. And even the people you may never work with again. Because being respectful when there’s something to gain is easy. Character shows when there isn’t. As I gain more experience working with different people, I’m learning that professionalism and kindness don’t have to be separate. You can set boundaries and still be respectful. You can give honest feedback without making someone feel small. You can say “no” without being rude. And you can hold people accountable without forgetting that there’s still a human being on the other side of the conversation. At the end of the day, people may forget the exact words you said or the position you held. But they’ll remember what it was like working with you. Be professional, but never forget to be human. #Professionalism (https://www.linkedin.com/search/results/all/?keywords=%23professionalism&origin=HASH_TAG_FROM_FEED) #WorkplaceCulture (https://www.linkedin.com/search/results/all/?keywords=%23workplaceculture&origin=HASH_TAG_FROM_FEED) #Leadership (https://www.linkedin.com/search/results/all/?keywords=%23leadership&origin=HASH_TAG_FROM_FEED) #CareerGrowth (https://www.linkedin.com/search/results/all/?keywords=%23careergrowth&origin=HASH_TAG_FROM_FEED) #HumanResources (https://www.linkedin.com/search/results/all/?keywords=%23humanresources&origin=HASH_TAG_FROM_FEED) #KindnessAtWork (https://www.linkedin.com/search/results/all/?keywords=%23kindnessatwork&origin=HASH_TAG_FROM_FEED) #Connections (https://www.linkedin.com/search/results/all/?keywords=%23connections&origin=HASH_TAG_FROM_FEED)

I used to think that hiring was all about finding the most experienced candidate. Now, after speaking with candidates from different countries and different backgrounds, I've realized something. Experience gets your attention. Attitude earns your trust. I've interviewed people with impressive resumes but little willingness to learn. I've also met candidates with less experience who came prepared, asked thoughtful questions, and genuinely wanted to grow. As recruiters, we don't just hire skills. We hire commitment. We hire curiosity. We hire people who choose to improve every single day. The best employee isn't always the one who knows everything. Sometimes, it's the one who never stops learning. To every job seeker: Your next opportunity may not depend on having the perfect resume. It may depend on the mindset you bring into the conversation. What's one quality you believe matters more than experience? #HumanResources (https://www.linkedin.com/search/results/all/?keywords=%23humanresources&origin=HASH_TAG_FROM_FEED) #Recruitment (https://www.linkedin.com/search/results/all/?keywords=%23recruitment&origin=HASH_TAG_FROM_FEED) #TalentAcquisition (https://www.linkedin.com/search/results/all/?keywords=%23talentacquisition&origin=HASH_TAG_FROM_FEED) #Leadership (https://www.linkedin.com/search/results/all/?keywords=%23leadership&origin=HASH_TAG_FROM_FEED) #CareerGrowth (https://www.linkedin.com/search/results/all/?keywords=%23careergrowth&origin=HASH_TAG_FROM_FEED) #Hiring (https://www.linkedin.com/search/results/all/?keywords=%23hiring&origin=HASH_TAG_FROM_FEED) #RemoteWork (https://www.linkedin.com/search/results/all/?keywords=%23remotework&origin=HASH_TAG_FROM_FEED) #PersonalBranding (https://www.linkedin.com/search/results/all/?keywords=%23personalbranding&origin=HASH_TAG_FROM_FEED)

The best candidates don't always have the best resumes. After interviewing people from different countries, one thing has become clear to me: A resume tells me what someone has done. A conversation tells me who they are. I've met candidates with years of experience but little willingness to learn. I've also met people with limited experience who showed curiosity, accountability, and genuine passion to grow. Skills can be developed. Knowledge can be taught. But attitude, integrity, and commitment are much harder to build. As someone working in recruitment, I've learned that hiring isn't just about filling a role. It's about finding people who can grow with the business and contribute to something meaningful. Every interview reminds me that behind every application is a person hoping for an opportunity. And behind every hiring decision is a chance to change someone's career. Still learning. Still improving. Still grateful to be part of that journey. #HumanResources (https://www.linkedin.com/search/results/all/?keywords=%23humanresources&origin=HASH_TAG_FROM_FEED) #TalentAcquisition (https://www.linkedin.com/search/results/all/?keywords=%23talentacquisition&origin=HASH_TAG_FROM_FEED) #Recruitment (https://www.linkedin.com/search/results/all/?keywords=%23recruitment&origin=HASH_TAG_FROM_FEED) #Leadership (https://www.linkedin.com/search/results/all/?keywords=%23leadership&origin=HASH_TAG_FROM_FEED) #Hiring (https://www.linkedin.com/search/results/all/?keywords=%23hiring&origin=HASH_TAG_FROM_FEED) #CareerGrowth (https://www.linkedin.com/search/results/all/?keywords=%23careergrowth&origin=HASH_TAG_FROM_FEED) #RemoteWork (https://www.linkedin.com/search/results/all/?keywords=%23remotework&origin=HASH_TAG_FROM_FEED) #PeopleFirst (https://www.linkedin.com/search/results/all/?keywords=%23peoplefirst&origin=HASH_TAG_FROM_FEED)
