Building an Editorial Rhythm for a Floral Creator

Kyla is a Washington DC–based lifestyle and floral creator whose work feels like an exhale. Her content lives in the in-between moments: prepping flowers at the kitchen counter, talking through her thoughts as she trims stems, turning everyday rituals into something quietly beautiful.

Flower Prep 101 is a signature series that has become a weekly ritual for her audience. Each episode follows Kyla as she hauls fresh blooms home, chats casually, and prepares each stem with care. The format feels intimate and unforced. Part tutorial, part cozy hangout. Short-form clips live on TikTok and Instagram, while longer, more reflective versions unfold on YouTube and Substack (The Flowers), giving her audience space to linger with the process.

When we began working together, the goal was not to reinvent her content, but to support it. Kyla already had a strong point of view and a clear creative voice. What she needed was structure, cohesion, and a way to extend the life of her work across platforms without losing its softness or soul.

The Goal

The focus was to help Kyla repurpose her floral and lifestyle content more intentionally, while creating a consistent editorial thread across every platform she shows up on. We wanted to strengthen her visual storytelling, rebuild consistency on long-form platforms like YouTube and Substack, and elevate the overall presentation so her content fully reflected both her craft and her personality.

Our Approach

We leaned into Kyla’s natural strengths: florals, calm visuals, and the cozy-but-polished atmosphere she is known for. From there, we developed a visual language that feels slow, elegant, and editorial. Nothing rushed. Nothing overly produced. The goal was to let her work breathe and allow her presence to remain the anchor of every piece of content.

What We Did

For long-form content, we edited videos with pacing and narrative in mind, making them feel intentional and immersive while staying true to her relaxed delivery. These edits were designed to live seamlessly on YouTube and Substack, supporting deeper storytelling and longer attention spans.
For short-form, we crafted Reels and TikToks that captured quick, engaging moments without sacrificing aesthetic integrity. Each clip was treated as a standalone piece, but still clearly part of a larger visual story.
We also focused heavily on repurposing. Long-form videos were carefully broken down into short-form moments that highlighted floral prep, lifestyle rituals, and behind-the-scenes creativity. This allowed Kyla to stay consistent across platforms while making the most of every filming session.
To support discoverability and cohesion, we designed clean, visually intentional thumbnails that communicate both mood and narrative at a glance. Title cards and subtle graphic elements were added to give each video a refined, branded finish, elevating the overall viewing experience without overpowering the content itself.
