Melissa Divaris Thompson is a licensed psychotherapist, group practice owner, and founder of Embracing Joy Consulting - helping couples navigate their most important relationships.
When she started sharing her expertise on TikTok and Instagram, her content struck a nerve. Her audience grew fast. Hundreds of thousands of people resonated with her message, and she went from local practitioner to viral creator almost overnight.
Her customers find her through social media, download her freebies, and enroll in her courses. Some book one-on-one sessions. Others want the self-paced resources. Either way, they trust her because she speaks to the real, messy, human side of love - with warmth, honesty, and zero fluff.
But behind the scenes, things weren't as smooth as they looked.
Melissa was running her business across five disconnected platforms: WordPress for her therapy practice, Mailchimp for email, Stan Store for digital products, Bookley for appointment scheduling, and Zoom for webinars. None of them talked to each other. And as her audience grew, the cracks got louder.

The Gap

Going viral is a gift and a problem at the same time.
Melissa's email list exploded from 500 to over 44,000 contacts. That growth was real - but it also triggered a $2,000/month Mailchimp bill just to house those contacts. Not to send. Just to store them.
She had two courses - a $47 program and a $167 program - plus a $17 PDF upsell and a free lead magnet. Half of it was uploaded to Kajabi. The other half was floating between Stan Store and her hard drive.
She was generating 45,000+ store visits a month. The traffic was there. The backend wasn't built to catch it.
On top of that, she was launching a new business - Embracing Joy Consulting - separate from her therapy practice. That meant a new website, new funnels, and a January webinar on the horizon with no system to support it.
She didn't need someone to push buttons in Kajabi. She needed a partner who could see the full picture, protect what was already working, and build a system that matched the momentum she'd created.

The Work

We started with strategy, not design.
The first step was mapping out Melissa's entire ecosystem - her products, traffic sources, intake process, audience segments, and revenue goals. Before anything got built, we needed to know what was working, what was broken, and what was at risk.
The intake form was the most delicate piece. Her client acquisition ran through a WordPress–Bookley–Mailchimp flow with state-specific filters. Breaking that meant losing real clients. So we kept WordPress intact for her therapy practice and removed it from the course and email flow entirely.
We built a smart routing system inside Kajabi. Prospects in states where Melissa's team is licensed get directed to her therapy practice booking flow. Everyone else gets routed into her courses and funnels. Her intake coordinator still receives an automated email with the prospect's details. Same result - fewer moving parts, zero risk to the existing practice.
From there, we moved into copy and design. Sales page copy for both courses, email sequences for each funnel, and landing pages for the lead magnet, contact form, and webinar - all written in Melissa's voice, grounded in her audience's language.
Then came the full build inside Kajabi: pages, automations, email sequences, course modules, checkout flows, upsell logic, tagging systems, and the webinar registration funnel. Both courses were fully migrated - modules, lessons, PDFs, and workbooks - with custom thumbnail designs for every module.
Every link, automation trigger, email, and redirect was tested before anything went live. We also built SOPs for every system so Melissa or any team member could manage the platform independently.

Embracing Joy Consulting Website - A clean, one-page Kajabi site built to grow her list, showcase her courses, and establish credibility for future partnerships
Full Course Migration - Both courses moved into Kajabi with all modules, lessons, PDFs, workbooks, and custom module thumbnails

The Outcome

Melissa now runs her course business and consulting operation out of one clean Kajabi system.
No more $2,000/month Mailchimp bill. No more products scattered across platforms that don't talk to each other. Her therapy practice stays on WordPress - but everything else runs through one connected engine.
