A closer look at the identity we designed for the Rylo rebrand. I teamed up with @hunterthompson (https://x.com/hunterthompson) to shape the logo, typography, icon system, colour palette, and full visual identity. Rylo came to us with a strong foundation, but the existing identity felt a little to clinical and lacked the personality to match the product. So we rebuilt the logo and icon system around Rylo's core purpose: a letterform, an audio waveform, and two opposing shapes representing communication, all in one simple, distinctive mark. That mark became the engine of the system, driving the wave patterns, graphic language, motion, and supporting assets into one cohesive identity. One of those projects where a single idea grows into an entire visual language. Loved every minute. Huge congrats to Rylo on raising $100M and making communication more accessible for those who need it most

I've been lucky to be featured in a few books over the years, but when David Airey asked me to be in his new book, I jumped at the chance! I've been a huge fan of his previous work, two of which I own. Identity Designed: The Process Identity Designed So, to be in his new 'Logo Design Love - A Guide to Creating Iconic Brand Marks' is nothing short of awesome! If you're not already familiar with his, I recommend getting at least one. His books are the kind you buy for yourself and then end up gifting to everyone you know. Identity Designed and Identity Designed: The Process are industry staples that shaped how alot of us think about brand identity. And if that wasn't enough, I'm placed right next to Paula Scher! I had to read that twice. 🙏 I can't wait to dig through these pages!

AiQuarium came to me as an AI agency and left with a brand people will trust, remember and gravitate towards. They build tailored AI solutions for lead gen and customer support, drawing on the best tools available globally and configuring them around each client's business. The problem was that almost every brand in this space looks identical. Blue and white, sterile and interchangeable. For an agency whose entire value is bespoke thinking, that was working against them. So I built the brand around the name. The aquarium is the business, the tools within it are the fish and coral and each client gets their own ecosystem assembled from resources gathered worldwide. The mark came from the wordmark itself. I rotated the "Q" letterform 90°, let its natural typographic tail become a fish tail, added an eye - and taadaa, the letterform turned into a fish. I wanted it to be recognisable, playful and entirely their own. For colour I moved away from the black and white category default - instead, I went for a luminous mint and light lavender for energy and intelligence, anchored by a deep teal green that reads as water, rather than tech cliché. Full brand strategy, identity and website, designed and built in Framer. They now look like the only agency doing what they do, rather than one of hundreds. In a category this crowded, that's usually a total game-changer.
