Some people show up to events. Some people show up for the next generation. ✨📚 This behind-the-scenes look follows Cimone Key as she popped up at the Fun Faire at Horn High School, representing CK Campus and continuing the work of creating opportunities, resources, and pathways for students to thrive. What makes moments like this special isn't just the event itself. It's seeing leaders who understand the importance of being present. Of pouring back into young people. Of showing students what's possible when someone believes in their potential. 🤎 That's the kind of impact that ripples far beyond a single day. Watching Cimone engage with students, connect with families, and represent the mission of CK Campus was a reminder that community work isn't always done from a stage. Sometimes it's found in conversations, encouragement, and simply showing up. 🙌🏾✨ 🎥 Captured through TheUnseenPOV, our signature storytelling experience designed to document creatives, founders, and community leaders as they move through their journey. From speaking engagements and community activations to mentorship moments and everyday leadership, we capture the experiences that shape the story. It's become a go-to tool for Dallas creatives and founders who want to share their perspective, document their impact, and bring their audience along for the journey. Because the work deserves to be seen, not just the wins. 💫 #CKCampus #CimoneKey #TheUnseenPOV #ADopeBlackCreative #CommunityImpact #YouthDevelopment #BlackLeadership #DallasCreatives #Storytelling #BehindTheScenes

We The Birth Certificate. 🤎✨- A visual for my client- BLKBRY. A cultural moment flipped into a statement piece. This concept plays on the viral “you the birthday” trend — reimagined through a sharper, more intentional lens: Black women aren’t just part of the story… we’re the origin of it. Creative direction, copy, and execution were all rooted in one truth — we are the blueprint. The tone is minimal but assertive, letting the message land without over-explaining. Because the audience already knows. This piece sits at the intersection of culture, timing, and identity — where trend meets truth and turns into something that lasts a little longer than the algorithm. Not just content. A reminder.

Design and execution of a high-engagement social media carousel for BLKBRY, focusing on the leadership team’s trip to the Mothers of Gynecology Conference. The goal was to bridge the gap between historical archival significance and modern community advocacy, positioning BLKBRY as a leading voice in cultural health narratives.

Officially on Contra, let's get to work! 🚀 New platform, same grind. Just joined Contra and I'm excited to bring 10+ years of experience across data analysis, travel coordination, troubleshooting management, client services, program coordination, and community support to this space... PLUS a creative eye from a decade in fashion modeling and coaching, where reading a room and directing a vision were just part of the job. Currently finishing my B.S. in Interdisciplinary Global Perspectives & Practices at Morgan State (Fancy language for two focuses under Business Administration. December 2027 grad — almost there!). I'm looking to connect on data-driven, admin support, and creative director. Any newbie advice? 💬 Let's engage: Drop a 🔥 if this is also your first week on Contra, or a 💡 if you've got one lesson you wish you knew before you started. I'll reply to every single one. Building in public starts now.

Running everything yourself was never meant to be permanent. Most founders and creators start out wearing every hat by necessity (such as answering emails late at night, rebuilding the same spreadsheet, chasing a follow-up between five other things.) It works, for a while. But at some point, the constraint on growth stops being the idea and starts being the hours in the day. The answer isn't to push harder. It's to understand the support options available because "assistant" isn't one job. It's a category, and that category has evolved. The support systems spectrum: three roles, three purposes Personal Assistant - Focused on your life outside of work: personal scheduling, errands, household logistics, travel for you and your family. A PA protects your personal time so you can show up fully when it's time to work. Executive/Administrative Assistant - Typically embedded within a company, supporting a specific leader or team: calendar and inbox management, meeting prep, internal coordination, travel booking, reporting. This model has long been the backbone of in-office business support, built around proximity and structure. Virtual Assistant - A flexible, remote evolution of both roles above. A VA can take on personal logistics, executive-level coordination, and business operations (often across time zones) on a schedule that flexes with your needs. It's not a smaller version of traditional support; it's a more adaptable structure for how businesses actually operate today. All three sit under the same umbrella (supporting people so they can focus on what matters most.) The difference is really about structure and flexibility, not value. VAs simply reflect where the workplace has moved: digital-first, remote-friendly, and built around outcomes rather than physical presence. Why Virtual Assistants matter more right now? Remote work reshaped how support gets structured, and a few things make VAs an especially strong fit today: Cost-efficiency: You pay for the hours and outcomes you need, without the overhead of a full-time in-house role. Scalability: Need more support during a launch and less the following month? A VA relationship can flex with you. Global talent access: You're not limited to your immediate area; you can find the right fit for the work. Speed: Many VA engagements can start within days rather than weeks. A quick note on misconceptions? There's sometimes an assumption that VAs only handle simple, low-stakes tasks. In practice, many VAs today manage meaningful, high-impact work, including: - Operations: process documentation, vendor coordination, project management across tools like Asana or Notion - Data: cleanup, reporting, dashboard maintenance - Customer support: client communication, onboarding, retention touchpoints - Content & admin support: scheduling, light copywriting, community management, launch coordination - Executive-level coordination: calendar and inbox management at the same level you'd expect from in-house support Who this is for? If you're a founder, creator, or professional who feels like there's more on your plate than hours in the day... you're far from alone, and it doesn't have to stay that way. Delegating isn't something you earn only after reaching a certain size. Often, it's part of how you get there. Looking ahead The future of work seems to be less about doing everything alone and more about building the right support around you. A Virtual Assistant isn't a replacement for what a PA or EA offers. It's simply a flexible option shaped for a remote, digital-first world. The real question worth sitting with: what would change if you had the right support in place?

Day 2 on Contra: okay, let's actually talk 👇 I could open with "detail-oriented team player" and we'd both fall asleep before I finished typing it. So instead... Hi, I'm Shawnte, and I promise this is more interesting than a resume. Here's what I've noticed after 10+ years doing this work: most people in the admin/data space are great at one thing. Either they're the spreadsheet whisperer who disappears into the backend, or they're the client-facing charmer who couldn't tell you where the numbers actually live. I've never understood why those had to be separate people. On one hand: 🧠 The analyst side - I'm the person who has the data entry, calendar management, strategic planning, reporting, troubleshooting support, program & community coordination. I build the systems that keep chaos from becoming a crisis. 🎯 The creative-director side - I spent a decade as a fashion model and coach, which taught me how to walk into a room (or a Zoom call), read what's actually needed, and make people feel taken care of. Poise under pressure isn't a personality quirk of mine. It's a professional skill, and it shows up in how I handle clients. Fine print translation is you're not just getting a task-doer. You're getting someone who can spot the broken process and make the client-facing side of your business look as sharp as the backend runs.
