About OSHA
Founded in 1939, The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) is a regulatory agency of the United States Department of Labor that originally had federal visitorial powers to inspect and examine workplaces.
My Role
I was part of a team, in a proofreading and glossary building capacity, that translated a great deal of safety manuals, pictograms, brochures and posters into Spanish for OSHA. The vocabulary ranged from highly technical datasheets to very colloquial catch phrases, which demanded a balance between copywriting (or "transcreation") and technical writing - not to mention a whole bunch of research.
