Manifesto Radio Podcast | Head of Translation + Localization

The podcast was created by Ed Calderon, who has worked in the fields of counter-narcotics, organized crime investigation, and public safety in the northern border region of Mexico. He now runs a security consulting company.

Ed Calderon has been a guest on various podcasts, including The Joe Rogan Experience and the Lex Fridman Podcast.

The project required a translator well versed in bi-cultural, cross-border culture. Having been raised at the US-Mexico border, and having accrued a decent amount of both pop and "academic" culture, Ed's team came to me with an offer to participate.

My time working as a translator for various USCD School of Medicine projects dealing with law enforcement, public health, drug use and public policy - both on the field and behind a computer - helped me deliver an accurate translation. My experience as a conference and meeting interpreter for the US consulate in Tijuana, Mexico, and my overall experience with the binational culture I was born into certainly did not hurt my case.

I provided a time-coded SRT file with the subtitles, but later delivered MP4 videos with the subtitles "burned in."
