I’ve completed my profile, but my job is still pending. Now what?
Our team reviews job posts before they go live to ensure they’re complete. Our team will reach out via email if any edits are required before your job post goes live.
If no action is required, we’ll send you an email automatically to let you know your job is live.
Why do I need to add a billing method?
We require that you add a billing method so that you’ll be ready to work with contractors as soon as you’re ready to kick off a project. You won’t be charged to post a job—that’s free.
Can I switch my account type after signing up?
It’s free to have a Hiring profile and Freelancer profile. To switch your account type after signing up, just click your avatar on the right-hand corner of the screen and select “Switch to Hiring” or “Switch to Independent” to toggle between your profiles.
How do I find contractors to work with?
There are a few ways to find the perfect freelance talent for your project:
Browse contractors on Contra in Discover here. You can search by skill, location, and more.
Post a public job to our job feed to get applications from vetted contractors who have the skills you’re looking for. Go to your Job page to post a public job.
Post a private job to send to contractors you already know to see if they want to apply. Go to your Job page to post a private job.
If I sign up as a client can I still apply to jobs?
Yes, you can apply to jobs and get hired even if you’ve signed up with a Hiring profile. Click your avatar in the upper right corner of the screen, click “Switch to Independent,” and complete your freelancer profile. Then, you can browse the job feed and apply for relevant work.
If I sign up as a contractor can I still hire?
Yes, you can post jobs and hire contractors even if you’ve signed up with a freelance profile. Click your avatar in the upper right corner of the screen, click “Switch to Hiring,” and post jobs or browse freelance talent on our Discover page here to find the perfect contractor for your project.
