Wanted to share some recent work this is Barista 010, a branding project for a coffee course made for home baristas. Had a lot of fun diving into modern coffee shop aesthetics, playing with illustrations, and really trying to capture the right vibe! You can check out the full project here (https://www.rubenvanas.nl/projects/barista-010)

I think working on my portfolio is the coolest thing ever because I can go as crazy as I want, who is there to stop me? 😅 It's been seven years since I first discovered Webflow and built my very first portfolio site. A few redesigns later, at the end of this summer, it felt like the time to push myself again and come up with something fresh. This time I wanted to create something that doesn’t really follow the standard web design rules. I mixed GSAP with some custom code to build this grid-like setup, which functions as an online archive of everything I’m proud of, from paid projects to passion projects. Check it out: https://www.rubenvanas.nl/ Would love to hear what you think!

BLAIRE Part 3. A closer look at the packaging system behind the concept. The collection was developed around sculptural forms, coated aluminium finishes, and a restrained visual language that allows the materials to do most of the work. Rather than relying on loud branding, the focus was placed on silhouette, proportion, and subtle typography to create products that feel considered both on shelf and in hand. The result is a skincare and beauty collection that balances softness with structure through a cohesive family of vessels, cartons, and material finishes. The full case study will be shared soon.

Part 2 of BLAIRE focuses on the structure behind the visual direction; exploring typography, layout systems, printed elements, and the details that create consistency across the brand. This phase shifts away from atmosphere and moves deeper into the mechanics of the identity system; balancing softness with precision through restrained compositions and controlled spacing. More renders + Full case study coming soon ✦

BLAIRE is a skincare and beauty concept centered around softness, restraint, and sculptural cosmetic forms. The direction explores skin-first products through coated aluminium packaging, muted floral tones, and editorial-inspired layouts. Designed as beauty objects first, the collection balances subtle branding with softened silhouettes, reflective finishes, and atmospheric color palettes. The first release includes a radiant skin tint, hydrating setting mist, and barrier priming cream developed as a cohesive luxury beauty line. Part 2 and 3 of the project, iuncluding more of the packaging and brand system will be shared this weekend, alongside the full case study.

Almost 5 years since I got my Design Sprint Masterclass Certificate from AJ&Smart. I've facilitated a little over a dozen sprints since then, and each one reinforced the same lesson: Magic happens when you give people a structured process, achievable tasks, and permission to test their ideas with real users. I've seen teams go from 6 months of indecision to a validated direction in 4 days. Founders realize their big idea needs a pivot after testing with just 5 users. Engineers and designers actually agreeing on something. The sprint framework doesn't guarantee you'll love the answer. But it guarantees you'll GET an answer—fast. If your team is stuck on a big decision or needs to move faster, let's talk.

Most e-commerce stores leave money in the cart. Not because their products are wrong. Because their cart experience is lazy. New research from Baymard Institute: 52% of shoppers will actively hunt for more items if they see they're close to free shipping. Half your customers want to spend more. They just need to see how close they are. That's what a cart drawer with a dynamic progress bar does. Takes about 2 hours to implement. Results show within days. Here's what it looks like. The bar moves as they add items. Shows exactly how much more to hit the threshold. No guessing. No math. Just visual motivation. 23% will checkout anyway. Fine. But 52% will add more to their order. If your average order is €80... Can push 52% of customers to add one more item at €20?
