How much can you remove before an idea disappears?
The Aphrology mark started with the Venus de Milo.
I progressively stripped away detail, keeping only the curves necessary to suggest Aphrodite while simultaneously constructing the letter A, the initial of the brand.
The final symbol lives between recognition and abstraction.
Aphrodite → A → Aphrology.
My answer to your opening question: further than the client expects, as long as the source keeps showing up somewhere else in the system. A mark that sits between recognition and abstraction relies on the rest of the identity to re-teach it, so I'm curious whether the Venus...

Constructing the letter A out of Aphrodite's curves at the same time as simplifying her form is such a tight constraint to design around. Was there a version partway through that still read as too literal, something you had to force yourself to strip further?

I designed this logo when I had just started learning graphic design. A few weeks ago, my client reached out wanting a rebrand because the business has grown and the old identity no longer reflects where the brand is headed.
Trifecta has evolved from a post-op recovery brand into a more elevated aesthetic concierge experience, so I wanted the new identity to feel more refined, feminine, and luxurious while still keeping a connection to the original brand.
This was such a good reminder that design should grow with the business, not just look good.
Which one do you prefer: the original logo or the rebrand?

Rebranding your own early work must hit differently than doing it for someone else's business. Are you expecting the redesign to run away with the poll, or does the original still have people rooting for it out of nostalgia?
