The effect design looks better on dark mode
Dark mode brings out that raw, retro-futuristic depth so well! The high contrast makes the inkbleed and halftone details hit way harder 🔥 neon and ink on dark background hits different.

key visual test for a API data provider - I want to use that style. but my first thought would be some legal AI - so it needs refinement. What do you think?

LIGHT ONE
Light gives more information visually than dark backgrounds.
Since you said it's a key visual leaning toward an API data or legal-AI product, I'd pick light: dark makes the inkbleed pop but skews edgy, closer to crypto than compliance. Light keeps the texture while reading credible and staying legible under data or UI overlays.

From a product perspective, the postcard option has the front face of the box lit and the side face darker, this helps the box perspective to feel closer to a real product.
The box design feels more integrated as a background to me, I would just put some work on making sure...

I'm torn on this one honestly, A feels warmer and more editorial while B leans a little more retail-catalog. What made you land on testing this pair specifically instead of two totally different concepts?
Which one would you put in the campaign?
One is built from sand: bone leather on a limestone plinth, a flared heel and one clean strap, soft daylight and scalloped stone shapes holding the background.
The other is built from shade: deep green on green, a sculpted block heel and crossed straps, a single lit circle behind it like a moon and everything else falling into the dark.
One reads warm and quiet. The other reads cold and deliberate. Which one stops your scroll? 👇
