Masterclass™ Series | Translator, Proofreader, Timecoder

MasterClass is a popular online education subscription platform on which students can access tutorials and lectures pre-recorded by experts in various fields.

I was chosen by Masterclass from an understandably large pool of potential translators for this endeavor. The project involved the translation and captioning - as well as their due proofreading - of classes taught by the likes of Disney CEO Bob Iger, former US-presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, adventure photographer Jimmy Chin and Screenwriter David Mamet, among many others.

I believe that a suitable candidate for this type of work must possess a specific skill set in addition to translation. Anyone who takes on a project like Masterclass should at least have an inkling of general culture and a knowledge of current affairs. A vast amount is optimal, however.

The resulting subtitles were delivered as a timecoded .SRT file.
