🧭 Context

YachtWay was still new, and we were carving out our place in a traditional industry. This email needed to showcase newly listed superyachts—high-ticket listings that demonstrated the caliber of vessels on the platform. It also subtly positioned YachtWay as the future of yacht sales, and included a featured YachtWay Studio video to show off premium media quality.

🎯 My Role

I was the UX writer and campaign builder, responsible for writing the copy, planning the email schedule, and managing the publishing workflow. On this specific email, I had to pivot from the original weekly schedule due to a last-minute request from the CEO.

✍️ What I Created

I wrote all of the marketing copy for the email:
Hero and hook
Subheaders
Body content
I also coordinated the flow:
Wrote copy quickly to give the designer time for mockup
Worked asynchronously in Figma with the designer and CEO
Finalized the campaign in MailChimp
Scheduled send and managed audience targeting
Communicated all progress in Slack to keep the team looped in

🔧 Process

Normally, I followed a weekly email schedule I built in Notion. However, this email was a last-minute CEO request, so I quickly pivoted from the planned content.
After writing the copy:
I passed it to the designer with a week for creative turnaround
The CEO gave async feedback in Figma (he was heavily involved)
Once approved, the designer built the final version in MailChimp
I confirmed scheduling and audience targeting, then set the email live

📈 Outcomes

At the time, these email campaigns were YachtWay’s primary outreach channel. The sales team was still being built, and marketing had limited tools. These emails—especially ones highlighting high-end listings—generated leads and built familiarity with the brand.

💭 Reflections

I wish the font sizes were a little larger, and the copy flow could have been smoother—it feels a little jarring in hindsight. I would also look for opportunities to shorten the copy. …However, I’m proud of how much this scrappy, fast-paced email represents the early grit of YachtWay. We made it work, and today, YachtWay is an unstoppable force.
