A bold, new visual identity for an authentic Italian pizzeria. Moving away from tired clichΓ©s, I built a refined, stylish, and cinematic brand system driven by deep, elegant color contrasts.

The Challenge

Pizzata is an authentic Italian pizzeria aiming to capture the essence of a lively European dining experience. The main challenge? Most local pizzerias rely on overused clichΓ©s: checkered tablecloths and cheap-looking neon signs. My goal was to create an unconventional, striking visual identity: a cinematic, premium brand that feels effortlessly stylish and highly inviting without ever coming across as a cheap stereotype.

What I Built

As Brand Designer, I developed a complete brand system from scratch, rooted in assertive typography and rich, atmospheric colors. My core deliverables included:
Typography Concept: The expressive "Cooperative Dirty Bold" forms the core of the identity, radiating unapologetic passion. It is deliberately balanced by the clean, minimalist "Adieu Light" used for pricing and structural copy.
Color Palette: A robust trio of Pomodoro Red (rich tomato sauce), Baked Beige (pizza dough), and Night Blue (the deep evening sky over an Italian piazza).
Visual Strategy: I defined the photography direction to capture the authentic, slightly chaotic joy of a real Italian dinner. This moody, cinematic approach formed the foundation of the social media strategy, ensuring every post feels effortlessly premium.

The Process

To leave the typical pizzeria vibes behind, I sought inspiration far from classic restaurant branding. I turned to high-end editorial food photography and cinematic aesthetics instead. Focusing heavily on the deep "Night Blue" helped translate that magical, evening piazza atmosphere into the visual identity. Now, everything about the brand screams quality: vibrant laughter, clinking glasses, and the smell of wood-fired dough.

Impact

The new branding successfully positions Pizzata as a true premium destination, all without losing the authentic, passionate soul of the restaurant. Pizzata now stands out drastically from local competitors, strategically attracting a younger, style-conscious demographic. From physical menus to digital touchpoints, the strict design system ensures a cohesive, unforgettable brand experience.
