📝 Contra Design Ambassador 💥

As Contra is working on building their platform, they’ve started a program to conduct user testing and also to help begin to build their community of creatives on the platform. Outside of the platform, they also have an active Slack community where independent professionals can connect and share resources with one another!

For the April Ambassador Program, eight people were selected from all over the world and with different specialties including marketing, writing, development, and design. I participated as one of the design ambassadors. My role was broken into these main areas:

Participating in UI/UX testing of the platform and providing feedback

Developing my personal Contra profile as one of the early users of the platform

Helping create brand awareness of Contra by writing about my experience and sharing it

The program was two weeks long and each day of the program had a specific set of tasks to complete or features to test on the platform. Notion was key to making everything run smoothly because this is where all of the tasks were outlined–broken out by week and then by each day of the program. When completing a task, you’d move it to a completed column to help keep track of the work. The entire program was very well organized and thoughtfully designed!

When interacting with the platform, we recorded our steps using Loom. This tool was new to me but very cool because you can capture a screen recording as well as video to capture reactions to different steps along the way. We also provided written feedback at certain stages of the process using Typeform.

The main highlight for me from participating in the program is that these last two weeks have been so fun! It’s been great to connect with people from all over the world, learn new skills, use new technology, and get to be able to participate in shaping the future of Contra.
