About the Project

Swift Street is a concept housewares brand that sells fine decor and household goods online and from their brick and mortar store in Portland, Oregon.
The goal for the project was to develop a unique logo and brand identity that would distinguish Swift Street as a luxury housewares brand.

My Role

I served as the lead designer and brand strategist for this project.

Behind the Logo Design

The company name is adapted from the street name where the business resides. Swift also happens to be the name of a migratory bird that passes through the city of Portland each year on it’s way south for the winter. The swift bird became a feature of the logo with the addition of the cherry blossom stem for the badge and alternative logo.

About the Brand System

For the typeface, we drew on the vintage style that inspires much of the company’s visual aesthetic and merchandise selection. The color palette is built around the warm tones of copper, marble, and amber glass in contrast with the moody blue and soft black.

Extending the Identity through Social

After creating the identity, we translated the visual aesthetic into a workable template and guidelines for use on social media.
