Idesigned a fun and rewarding way of getting clients to think about their contribution to the environment.
Designing for what matters
Metrics are often the first thing we think about when using a product. How does this product help me accomplish my goals?
To keep people engaged, it was important for us to show them what they achieved, and how they could improve.
Adding fun into the mix
We are all busy. Staying on track and maintaining consistency can be difficult.
“Fun” and gamification don’t revolve just around entertainment. They often provide clarity on the next step to be taken (e.g., accomplishing a “milestone”) without sounding authoritative.
Rewards help us focus
With so much fun, it’s easy to get distracted.
To motivate clients to keep engaged, we had to provide something back. Cashback can be very helpful for people who regularly shop from green brands, and uniting all of their favorite shops’ under one umbrella can greatly reduce churn.
Loud ‘n’ proud
The last- and most difficult step- of a successful product is to get people to invest.
Accomplishments can be shared not only with one’s coworkers but also on social networks. This way, we create a positive feedback loop for those who invest their time and energy into the app.
