Nicole approached me to develop a brand identity from the ground up, seeking a visual presence that would make her stand out in a competitive market. She sent me her Pinterest moodboard as a starting point, giving me insight into her vision and aesthetic preferences. To kick off the project, I sent her my brand discovery questionnaire, a tool designed to help her reflect on key aspects of her brand, including how it differs from competitors, who her ideal customer is, and what her long-term goals are.
Once she completed the questionnaire, we held a strategy call to dive deeper into her responses and discuss how to translate her answers and visual inspiration into concrete visual assets. Our goal was to create a cohesive, memorable brand identity that would resonate with her target market and establish a lasting impression.
Nicole initially requested a logo, color palette, and typography suite, however, I ended up expanding the scope and throwing in some extras to provide her with a more comprehensive package. This included:
Three versions of her primary logo for ultimate versatility
An alternate logo that ties beautifully into her accent font
A logo mark for quick brand recognition
A signature brand illustration, which I transformed into a pattern and logo stamp
The end result was a fully realized, immersive brand identity that is both unique and distinctly aligned with Nicole's vision. Nicole was thrilled with the outcome, providing virtually no feedback for revisions—a testament to the effectiveness of the one-concept method I used. This project not only exceeded her expectations but also established a strong foundation for her brand’s future growth! Here's a snippet from the first message I received after submitting the project:

Bryn, this all looks AMAZING!! I got your message right before getting some updated headshots, and it was the perfect setup for our shoot. I love the direction you took, and I'm so excited to start using it!

I credit continually receiving these types of messages to my specific and very intentional brand presentation process. See below some examples of how I present a brand identity to a client.
Presenting a logo in its own is great, but presenting assets as the brand founder would actually use them is how you can help them to understand more deeply the vision and intention behind each design choice.

Even if business cards weren't in the brand package we went for, I wanted Nicole to be able to envision how her branding would look in the real world, how she would actually us it.

Describing the intention behind every design choice is extremely important to me when presenting assets to my clients.

Usage guidelines are an essential part of my branding process. Here, I show Nicole how she can / should use her fonts to ensure that it aligns with the brand identity we have created.

100% of my branding clients want to use their brand assets to elevate their presence on social media. This page in the brand presentation, for me, is non-negotiable.

A brand guidelines presentation is more than just presenting a logo, it's about explicitly instructing your client on how to use their new brand colours, logos, and typography correctly. I believe it's my job to ensure that the branding is used in the right way so that my clients are able to fully benefit from their new branding.

Whilst providing a comprehensive brand guidelines presentation is always a part of my process, adding in a brand guidelines 'cheat sheet' is essential as well to give clients easy access to their branding in a more streamlined, digestible way for quick reference.
