Lyra — Pitch Deck Design for an AI-Powered Literacy Platform

Client: Wilson Global Initiative Services: Pitch Deck Design, Visual Storytelling, Brand Illustration Direction Deliverable: 16-slide investor pitch deck
The Challenge
Wilson Global Initiative was raising a $1M seed round for Lyra, an AI-driven literacy game aimed at teaching a billion children to read. The story was strong a founder who started fighting illiteracy at 14, real AI/ed-tech substance behind the product but it needed a deck that could carry that ambition visually: something investors would remember, not just read.
What I Did
I designed the full pitch deck from the ground up, building a cohesive "cosmic literacy" world around the Lyra brand rather than relying on generic startup slide templates:
Created a custom visual identity a deep-space color palette, glowing gradients, and a cast of illustrated character mascots that turned an EdTech pitch into an emotionally engaging universe
Structured the narrative arc across 16 slides: problem (the global literacy crisis), urgency, product introduction, competitive differentiation, AI/tech credibility, curriculum breakdown, monetization, budget, and roadmap
Designed a competitor-comparison slide contrasting Lyra against Khan Kids, Duolingo ABC, and ABCmouse using consistent card-based visuals
Built data-forward slides (budget breakdown, revenue model, ROI, roadmap with planetary milestones) that stayed on-brand while staying easy to scan
Kept every slide legible and print/export-safe, with consistent iconography, typography, and spacing throughout
The Result
A polished, story-driven investor deck that positions Lyra as a category-defining product rather than another literacy app giving the founding team a fundraising asset built to hold attention in the room, not just on the page.
