Overview:

Windy Films enlisted my expertise for their collaboration with Planned Parenthood on the "Bans Off our Bodies" campaign. This initiative aimed to amplify the voices of those affected by the overturning of Roe v Wade, shedding light on the importance of reproductive rights across the nation.



Objective:

With a history of successful collaboration with Windy Films, I was brought on board to leverage my skills in crafting compelling copy for social media, aligning with Planned Parenthood's messaging, and ensuring the campaign showcased Windy Film's contribution.



Approach:

In close collaboration with Windy Films, I undertook the responsibility of crafting copy and social content that not only echoed the campaign's core message of empowerment but also honored my client's commitment to the fight for reproductive justice alongside Planned Parenthood. My client wanted the content to be aligned with their Instagram's pre-existing approach to posting content, but with the hope to showcase the predominantly woman-run production team. Central to our strategy was the creation of narratives that vividly depicted the journey of the neon sign, proudly bearing the powerful statement "OUR BODIES, OUR FUTURES, OUR ABORTIONS," as it traversed through states burdened by legislative restrictions.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborated with Windy Films and Planned Parenthood to align messaging with campaign objectives.
  • Developed engaging and impactful copy and content for social media platforms, ensuring the centering of the women-led production team.
  • Emphasized the inclusive nature of the production team, without overshadowing the campaign's central message.

The "Bans Off our Bodies" campaign achieved remarkable success, garnering widespread attention and engagement across social media platforms. Its compelling narrative, coupled with strategic messaging, led to increased awareness and advocacy for reproductive rights. The campaign was celebrated across all Planned Parenthood channels, solidifying its impact and relevance in today's socio-political landscape.

This project underscored the importance of collaboration, storytelling, and purpose-driven content in effecting meaningful social change. By centering the voices of those directly affected and amplifying their narratives, we demonstrated the collective power of advocacy and allyship in advancing crucial causes.
