Project Overview
As the Public Relations Chair for the Minority Connection Initiative (MCI), I played a pivotal role in organizing and promoting the Empowered Women's Brunch, a collaborative event with Sisters United to commemorate Women's History Month.
My responsibilities encompassed various aspects of event planning:
Venue Selection: Identified and secured an appropriate space for the brunch
Space Allocation: Planned the layout to optimize guest experience and event flow
Entertainment: Sourced and contracted performers for live entertainment
Catering: Participated in menu curation and managed food and beverage vendors
Photography: Contracted professional event photographers
Promotional Activities
I spearheaded a comprehensive promotional campaign:
Digital Marketing: Designed and distributed save-the-date promotions and official event invitations across digital platforms
Print Materials: Created print promotional materials to complement digital efforts
Menu Release: Designed an event menu, released prior to the event to generate excitement
Day-of-Event Management
On the day of the brunch, I was actively involved in:
Social Media Coverage: Live-tweeted and conducted Instagram Live sessions on MCI's social accounts
Event Management: Assisted with on-site coordination and problem-solving
Post-Event Promotion
Following the event, I leveraged the professional photo and video content to:
Create engaging event recap posts for MCI's social media channels
Showcase the event's success and highlight key moments
This multifaceted approach to event planning and promotion contributed to a successful Empowered Women's Brunch, strengthening MCI's presence in the community and fostering connections with Sisters United. The event effectively celebrated Women's History Month while providing a platform for empowerment and networking.
