Studio R&D, investor decks. The company is our own invention. The narrative, the component system and the data-driven charts are complete.
Brief
Halcyon Grid is software that decides when batteries already on the grid should charge and discharge. Investor decks often bury an idea like that under charts. This one had to make a technical business clear in a few minutes, with numbers a reader trusts at a glance.
Architecture and design system
The story was written slide by slide before anything was designed, opening on one line: the largest battery on the grid is the one nobody built.
Palette, grid and type scale are set in Python, with contrast checked for every pairing, then built into one master component system for all fourteen slides.
Each chart's geometry is generated from its data and placed in the master, so a changed number redraws its own chart.
Motion and visual delivery
Colour does one job. Cyan always means charge and amber always means discharge, so every chart reads without a legend. The deck runs as a live HTML presentation with keyboard control and exports to a presentation PDF from the same master.
Impact
Fourteen slides on one master component system.
Charts generated from data, so a changed number redraws its chart.
Measured on the published build (Chromium 141, axe-core 4.13, Lighthouse 12.8 desktop preset, October 2026):
Lighthouse 100 for performance and accessibility: largest contentful paint 0.6 s, total blocking time 0 ms, layout shift 0.
0 axe violations against WCAG 2.2 AA at 1440 px and at 390 px.
The full deck is a 148 KB HTML file, 25 KB gzipped.
The fourteen-page presentation PDF embeds every font it uses.
Studio R&D in investor decks. Fourteen slides for an invented grid-battery software company on one master component system, every chart generated from its data. Lighthouse 100 performance and accessibility.
