Project Overview

Anyifie, home of the Anyis, is a distinguished royal brand located in the southern part of the Western North region of Ghana. Rich in history, bravery, patience, and aristocracy, Anyifie is deeply rooted in the imperial Oyoko tribe. The brand celebrates and preserves the cultural heritage and lineage of the Anyi people, serving as a living testament to their ancestral legacy.

Phase 1: Creative Direction & Research

1.1 Logo Font Brainstorming
I explored fonts that would encapsulate the strength, authority, and cultural heritage of the Anyi people. My search focused on fonts with bold, strong characteristics, reflecting the brand's regal nature. I eventually settled on a refined serif typeface that provided a sense of stability, authority, and prestige—perfectly aligned with the royal essence of Anyifie.
1.2 Logo Concept & Sketching
The concept development process centered around incorporating two powerful cultural symbols: the Falcon and the Adinkra symbol "Aban." Through initial sketches, I aimed to combine these elements in a way that would reflect both the strength and leadership of the Anyi people while maintaining the regal and aristocratic identity that Anyifie embodies. The sketches reflected both the elegance of the Falcon and the grounding power of the Adinkra symbol.

Phase 2: Logo Design

2.1 Logo Illustration
The final logo design integrates the "Falcon" and "Aban" Adinkra symbol, creating a visually compelling and meaningful identity. The Falcon, representing the Oyoko clan and the paramount chief of Aowin, symbolizes nobility and leadership, while the "Aban" symbol, which represents strength and authority, grounds the logo in the cultural heritage of the Anyi people. This logo serves as a mark of authority, reinforcing the leadership of the paramountcy and its civic presence.

Phase 3: Visual Design

3.1 Primary Color Palette & Typography
I selected a color palette rooted in the regal traditions of the Anyi people. Deep royal blues, golds, and rich reds were chosen to represent nobility, power, and heritage. These colors evoke a sense of pride and tradition while remaining sophisticated and timeless. The chosen typography pairs well with the bold logo, using strong serif fonts that complement the authority and power conveyed through the visual elements.
3.2 Logo Motion Design
To enhance the brand’s presence on digital platforms, I created a subtle motion design for the logo. The Falcon symbol gracefully flies into position, followed by the assembly of the "Aban" symbol. This animation captures the strength and leadership associated with Anyifie, making the logo dynamic and memorable in digital contexts.
3.3 Pattern Design
I developed a set of bespoke patterns inspired by African royal textiles and traditional symbolism, which would serve as a background for digital and printed materials. These patterns, derived from the Adinkra symbols and the elegant flow of the Falcon, help reinforce the brand’s cultural significance and royal essence.

Phase 4: Real-Life Branding Application

Live Website
The Anyifie website was developed with the objective of reinforcing its civic presence and authority. The website design showcases the brand's rich heritage, with elements that reflect its cultural legacy. We implemented intuitive navigation to highlight the paramountcy’s history, values, and role within the community. The visual design is regal and elegant, creating a user experience that aligns with the brand's leadership status. The site includes a section dedicated to the history and significance of the "Falcon" and "Aban" symbols, ensuring visitors understand the deeper meaning behind the visual identity.
Brand Design Presentation
The design presentation for Anyifie was crafted to provide a comprehensive view of the new visual identity, from the logo and color palette to the website design. The presentation explained the cultural relevance and significance of each design element, ensuring that the brand’s leadership and heritage were conveyed clearly and effectively across all touchpoints.

Phase 5: Client Aftercare

Client Testimonial
Following the successful launch of the new brand identity, the leadership at Anyifie expressed immense satisfaction with the results. They appreciated how the logo encapsulated their strength, authority, and royal heritage while also positioning them as a brand that embodies leadership and civic responsibility. The website has become an essential tool in communicating the paramountcy's values and has helped further cement Anyifie’s presence as a cultural leader in the region.
