I handled all Executive Director responsibilities for Literary Arts Windsor and led the planning, organization, and execution of in-person and virtual events, including the four-day literary festival BookFest Windsor. Apply for grants and secure funding to support LAW’s programs and events. Oversee and approve all financial activities, including budgeting and financial reporting. Develop and implement revenue strategies to sustain and grow the organization. Develop and execute social media marketing strategies to promote LAW events and BookFest. Create content and advertisements for social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, X, and Youtube. Maintain and update the LAW website, optimizing for SEO and user engagement. Post events and updates on community boards and coordinate with newspapers, radio, and TV stations. Generate publicity and enhance the organization’s visibility through direct marketing for both LAW and BookFest Windsor. Recruit, train, and retain volunteers to support various activities and events. Provide guidance and support to volunteers, ensuring their effective organizational contribution. Foster relationships with community partners, stakeholders, and the media. Represent LAW at public events and within the community to enhance organizational presence and support. Hire and manage staff and external agencies as needed. Ensure effective communication and coordination between LAW and BookFest Windsor. Maintain and create new content for the LAW website, ensuring it is current and engaging.
