The National Sun Festival is celebrated in February each year and is held in various spaces: the Thematic Fair (in Paque de Mayo), the Carousel, giving charm to the streets of the city, and the Final Show that takes place in the Eduardo Copello Racetracks, located in an impressive natural amphitheater surrounded by mountains.

The National Sun Festival 2018 was celebrated from February 20th to 24th, 2018, under the theme "Difunta Correa: Mother's Love." It paid homage to the mythical figure of Deolinda Correa, a popular icon and symbol of maternal protection, and her famous sanctuary, with the aim of reaffirming her cultural significance in local culture and enhancing its development for international tourism projection. Deolinda Correa crossed the San Juan desert on foot, carrying her baby in her arms and following the steps of her husband, who had been recruited for the war. She died of thirst, but her child survived miraculously.
