Project overview

Contemporary restaurant brand identity and visual design for Veynden, a client, built around a refined bold wordmark, a compact stacked signature, and the tagline Proef, Geniet, Herinner (taste, enjoy, remember). The identity carries through logo, typography, and a calm natural visual system for meaningful gatherings, across menu design, packaging, and in-room graphics.

The challenge

Restaurants sell more than food: they sell the gathering itself, the table, the conversation, the moment people remember. Veynden needed an identity that feels warm and considered rather than generic or fussy, works on a small menu card as well as a storefront sign, and holds together across print, fabric, food, and screen.

Design approach and key decisions

The identity works in two forms: the complete Veynden lockup and a compact stacked Veyn den signature, used consistently so the brand stays recognisable at any size. The palette stays natural and calm, dusty blue, warm sand, soft stone, sage mist, dusty mauve, and charcoal, and the typography pairs Cormorant Garamond for headlines with Manrope for everyday text. The same mark, colours, and type run through every application after this point, from the business card and menu to the cap and shopping bag.

Project scope

Logo design, visual identity system, and application design, covering colour and typography systems, menu design, business cards, packaging and shopping bags, merchandise and caps, T-shirts, journal and editorial, stationery, campaign compositions, social templates, website, signage, and in-room graphics. Designed in Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop.

Final deliverables

A complete identity package for Veynden: the wordmark, stacked signature, and tagline, the visual identity system with colour and typography, and a full set of applications across menus, packaging, merchandise, stationery, campaign, social, website, and signage. The images above show the system applied, from the table and menu to the storefront and journal.
