Project overview

Logo and branding for Montra, a minimal clothing label and client, built around a clean dark blue wordmark, the tagline Designed to be worn, and a restrained palette of deep navy and soft ivory. One system carries the identity from the clothing tag and shopping bag to the storefront and posters, so the label reads as quiet, considered, and wearable.

The challenge

Minimal clothing lives or dies on restraint: too little identity and the label disappears, too much and it stops feeling minimal. Montra needed a brand that reads as premium and considered at a glance, works on a small clothing tag as well as a storefront sign, and lets the clothes, not the logo, do the talking.

Design approach and key decisions

The work starts from the wordmark: a clean, dark blue Montra set against soft ivory, with the tagline Designed to be worn stating the promise plainly. The palette stays restrained, deep navy for depth and soft ivory for lightness, and the typography follows the same discipline, one primary typeface used consistently. The same mark, colours, and type run through every application after this point, from the tag and bag to the posters and storefront.

Project scope

Logo design, visual identity system, and application design, covering wordmark and tagline, colour and typography systems, website and shop signage, clothing tags, shopping bags and tote bags, merchandise, storefront, and posters. Designed in Adobe Photoshop.

Final deliverables

A complete identity package for Montra: the wordmark and tagline, the visual identity system with colour and typography, and a full set of applications across tags, bags, merchandise, storefront, signage, and posters. The images above show the system applied, from the tag on the garment to the poster in the station.
