Digital Product Redesign, Content Architecture & Mobile-First Editorial System for Revista Central (TV Azteca)
Product Design / UX Research / UI Systems / Editorial Architecture / Digital Media
As a Digital Product Consultant for Revista Central—the premier lifestyle, culture, wellness, food, and travel publication owned by TV Azteca, one of Mexico's largest multimedia broadcasting conglomerates—I led the UX/UI strategy and end-to-end redesign of its digital web platform.
The core business challenge was to transform a dense, complex editorial ecosystem into a clean, modern, and mobile-first experience engineered to retain high-volume audiences and monetize content without sacrificing editorial readability.
01 — Editorial Audit & Mobile-First Strategy
The vast majority of digital lifestyle content is consumed on mobile devices, where legacy editorial layouts frequently fail due to visual clutter and poor navigation.
Taxonomy Restructuring: I audited and reorganized the sitemap and core categories (Culture, Wellness, Food, Travel, and Entertainment) to establish intuitive navigation pathways that drastically reduce bounce rates.
Scannable Hierarchy: Engineered editorial layouts prioritizing visual rhythm, high-legibility typography, and the organic integration of advertising units without disrupting the user's reading flow.
02 — Modular Design System & Dark/Light UI
To streamline daily production for the editorial and engineering teams, I architected a comprehensive, scalable Design System in Figma.
Adaptive Interfaces: Built modular UI components with native support for both Light and Dark Mode, enhancing web accessibility (a11y) and minimizing visual fatigue during extended reading sessions.
Execution Speed: Defined responsive grids, typographic tokens, micro-interactions, and UI guidelines—enabling the internal content team to publish digital articles and special features at a fraction of the legacy time.
The redesign moved beyond visual aesthetics to drive measurable commercial value. I designed contextual touchpoints and low-friction newsletter subscription funnels embedded natively within article layouts, effectively converting casual readers into a loyal, recurring subscriber base.
04 — Strategic Business Impact & ROI
The deployment of the new architectural and visual system fundamentally elevated the publication's digital performance, proving the direct correlation between executive product design and media revenue growth:
+54% increase in overall platform visits and traffic, driven by optimized mobile page speed, structured content hierarchy, and SEO-friendly layouts.
+46% growth in recurring newsletter subscribers, fueled by frictionless onboarding flows and contextual lead-capture units.
