Cakeday is a birthday companion for the people you care about. It keeps everyone's birthday in one place, tells you whose day is coming up next and makes it easy to actually celebrate: send a message, send a birthday card or simply be reminded in time to plan something. It is designed for busy people who want a reliable nudge before the day, for friend groups and families who want to see each other's birthdays without keeping a shared spreadsheet, and for thoughtful senders who like to schedule a personal note or card for the morning of the big day.

Built with FlutterFlow and Supabase, the app is a responsive web experience, live since October 2026, that adapts to three screen sizes: bottom tabs on phones, a side rail on tablets and a full sidebar on laptops, in light or dark mode. Users add a person's name and birth date or invite a friend with a personal link; once the friend accepts, each sees the other's birthday, tagged as a friend, on Home, in the Calendar and in Search. Messages support one-to-one and group chats, for example to plan a surprise and birthday cards can be sent at once or scheduled for 9:00 on the day, in the app or as a link anyone can open.

Behind the interface, Supabase server functions check the dates every day and send reminders on the day, or one day, three days or a week before, by push notification or weekly email digest, respecting quiet hours in each user's time zone. They also deliver scheduled cards, publish a private calendar feed for Google or Apple Calendar and handle data export and account deletion. Row Level Security on all 17 tables means users can only change their own data and only see friends' birthdays when those are shared.
