Rebranding & high-authority website redesign for a scientific equipment company

Overview

Active Lab is a scientific equipment company operating since 2011, offering high-quality laboratory products and collaborating with established industry partners. I led a complete rebranding and large-scale website redesign to modernize their digital presence, strengthen authority in their field, and clearly introduce their expanded technical support services.

The Challenge

Despite strong market experience and partnerships, Active Lab’s digital presence no longer reflected:
Their credibility and longevity in the industry
The quality of their products
Their newly introduced technical support services, which needed stronger visibility
The challenge was to translate technical expertise and trust into a modern, structured digital experience that communicates authority without overwhelming the user.

My Role

Brand identity redesign (logo, business cards, letterheads and brochure)
UX & UI design for a 26+ page website
Information architecture & content hierarchy
Responsive design for all devices
Basic prototyping to simulate interactions
Design handoff to development team
This was a full-scope design project from brand foundations to developer-ready delivery.

Strategy & Key Design Decisions

Authority-driven visual system The new visual identity was designed to feel modern, precise, and professional, reinforcing trust in a scientific and technical context.
Clear service positioning Special emphasis was placed on Active Lab’s technical support services, ensuring they were clearly communicated as a core offering rather than a secondary add-on.
Structured information architecture Given the large volume of products and content, the website was carefully structured to make complex information easy to navigate and understand.
Scalable, responsive design All pages were designed responsively, ensuring usability across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices without compromising clarity.
Developer-ready handoff The design was fully prepared in Figma with clear layouts, components, and basic prototyping to support smooth implementation in code.

Tools & Platform

Figma for UX, UI, and prototyping
Component-based design system for scalability
The design system supports future expansion as the company grows its services and product range.

Outcome

The result is a modern, authority-driven brand and website design that:
Reflects Active Lab’s experience and industry standing
Clearly communicates complex technical offerings
Highlights technical support as a key differentiator
Provides a scalable foundation for future growth
The project successfully repositioned Active Lab as a contemporary, credible leader in its field.
