Overview

FMA Assurances, a leading insurance brokerage, engaged AVANGARDISM to redesign its corporate website as part of a broader digital transformation. The goal was to modernize the brand experience, improve usability across devices, and strengthen online conversion performance.

Brief

Rebuild the WordPress website in under three months to coincide with the public reveal of FMA’s new visual identity at the largest two-wheel industry event in France, a key business moment. Deliver a fast, secure, fully responsive experience with an editor-friendly CMS for the marketing team. Optimize content and technical foundations for SEO, while ensuring a smooth data migration.

Approach

We ran an agile, feedback-driven process to ship quickly without sacrificing quality. Workstreams ran in parallel: content and IA refinement, design system setup, WordPress build with a minimal plugin footprint, performance budgets, and security baselining aligned with ACPR recommendations. The marketing team received targeted enablement to manage content autonomously.

Challenges

Migrate to WordPress while meeting strict mobile, performance, and security targets, and staying aligned with ACPR expectations for user data protection.
Deliver on a sub-three-month timeline with frequent stakeholder feedback, without slowing the build.
Coordinate with FMA’s IT team, less familiar with WordPress, and upskill the marketing team for autonomous SEO and content operations.
Launch with zero downtime at a strategic moment for brand visibility.

Information Architecture

We simplified navigation and removed duplication to make key actions obvious and reduce friction. Content was reorganized to clarify value propositions and address recurring questions, with clear CTAs and an FAQ to support decision making.

Design Principles

Credible, contemporary, and accessible. The interface favors clarity and hierarchy, with micro-interactions that guide attention without impacting performance. The visual language reflects the new identity while remaining focused on legibility and trust.

Development

CMS: WordPress with a lean, maintainable setup and minimal plugins for security, autonomy, and speed
Front-end: custom components, accessible markup, strict performance budgets
Motion: GSAP for subtle, fluid interactions that do not penalize load time
SEO: technical and editorial optimization, metadata, redirects, and clean URL structure
Workflow: Figma for design and Trello for delivery tracking

Security and Compliance

Hardened WordPress configuration, reduced plugin surface, role-based access, regular updates, and best practices aligned with ACPR guidelines. Deployment and backups structured to support continuity and rollback if needed.

Content Refinement

We collaborated on copy to clarify FMA’s positioning and benefits versus other brokers. The revised messaging improved readability, aligned with user intent, and provided a stronger foundation for organic search.

Results

On-time launch aligned with the new brand reveal, without service interruption
Faster loading, responsive experience with clear paths to action
Stable, secure site with an editor-friendly CMS for the marketing team
Positive qualitative feedback from users and stakeholders, validating a user-centered, performance-minded approach

Tech Stack

WordPress, GSAP, custom component library, Figma, Trello.
