UX Optimization for Quote-Driven Shipping Platform
Strategic Overview
Conversion-focused UX/UI redesign for a shipping platform driven by quote generation. The platform had high traffic from paid ads, but users were dropping off before completing quotes due to poor information hierarchy and low visibility of the pricing calculator.
The goal was to improve clarity, reduce friction, and increase quote completion rates.
Problem (Before UX Intervention)
The shipping calculator existed but was poorly discoverable within the site architecture
Users arrived with high intent (“I want to know shipping cost”) but could not quickly find the quote tool
Information hierarchy did not prioritize the primary conversion action
Multiple content blocks created cognitive overload
Lack of clear guidance toward the quotation flow
Result: high drop-off before quote completion
UX & Information Architecture Decisions (After)
1. Funnel Reprioritization
Repositioned the quote calculator as the primary action within the navigation and page hierarchy.
Impact: users immediately recognize the main conversion goal.
2. Information Hierarchy Simplification
Reduced visual and informational noise in the above-the-fold section to improve focus.
Impact: lower cognitive load and faster understanding of the service.
3. Intent-Based Page Flow
Restructured the page flow into: information → trust → action.
Impact: users understand the service before being prompted to convert.
4. Improved Content Scannability
Reorganized content into modular sections optimized for fast scanning from paid traffic.
Impact: better engagement for users arriving with low attention span.
5. Conversion Component Redesign (Conceptual)
Designed improved versions of the calculator and login/register flows (not fully implemented due to platform constraints).
Impact: proposed reduction of friction in key conversion points.
BEFORE
Hidden quote calculator
Fragmented information structure
Weak conversion hierarchy
High cognitive effort required to understand the service
AFTER
Clear visibility of quotation flow
Structured hierarchy focused on conversion
Simplified navigation and content layout
Improved user understanding of the service offering
Conversion Strategy Insight
The redesign focused on aligning user intent from paid traffic with the primary conversion goal:
making the quote process visible, intuitive, and low-friction from the first interaction
Business Impact Rationale
Improved visibility of the main conversion action (quote calculator)
Reduced friction in user journey from landing to quotation
Better alignment between ad traffic intent and website structure
