Project Overview

BBSO, a church in Oradea, rebranded its visual identity at the beginning of 2024. This rebranding coincided with the launch of the "Jesus Parables" sermon series and the church's 15-year anniversary. The visual direction used a bright color palette, playful lines, and bold typography, merging stability with approachability. This identity was applied across digital and print assets to create a cohesive brand experience.

My Role

As the lead designer, I shaped the overall look of the sermon series and anniversary visuals, ensuring alignment with the newly refreshed identity. My role included conceptualizing, designing, and executing graphics for both digital and physical platforms.
Issues I Had to Fix: The challenge was creating a refreshed brand identity that seamlessly integrated the Parables sermon series with the church's 15th-anniversary celebration. I needed to produce materials that conveyed celebration and reverence, ensuring that each element—from social media graphics to print materials—aligned with the updated brand style. The new visuals had to be festive and cohesive, meaningfully capturing the church’s identity.

Thumbnails and Carousels: Specific thumbnail designs and a four-image carousel for social media, showcasing upcoming events and sermons, including a final call-to-action.

Process

Client Collaboration: Discussed the goals and vision with church leadership to capture their rebranding intentions and anniversary celebration needs.
Concept Development: Created 2-3 visual directions for approval, ensuring each aligned with the rebranding’s playful, approachable aesthetic.
Customization and Refinement: Finalized the chosen direction with color and typographic adjustments to ensure clarity and consistency.
Asset Creation: Designed both digital and print assets, ready for immediate use and tailored to multiple platforms.
Animation and Finalization: Collaborated with the music team to synchronize visual and audio elements, creating an impactful opening sequence for the sermon series.
This approach established a vibrant, modern visual identity that resonated with both BBSO’s congregation and online followers, effectively merging tradition with contemporary design.
