What project types does Contra support?
Contra supports the following project structures:
One-time projects: Best for single projects with a clear start and end date
Ongoing projects: Best for ongoing projects where the end date is undefined
Milestone projects: Best for projects with multiple checkpoints
How do I cancel a project?
Cancellations can be made within your project’s “Actions” dropdown. From there, select “End project” to cancel or dispute the project.
Note that you can only cancel a project if payment has not yet been made. If a payment has been made, you will need to submit a project dispute, which will be reviewed by our support team, where a resolution will be made.
How do I send a proposal?
To send a proposal: go to your Projects & Invoices page and click “Send proposal”. Or, go straight to the new proposal flow here. Follow the prompts to add a timeline, details, and deliverables, then send to any client on (or off) Contra.
Does the person I send a proposal to need a Contra account?
Nope, you can send a proposal to anyone who is on or off Contra. For those who aren’t yet using Contra, they’ll just need to sign up for free by verifying their email address to see the proposal.
Can I request that a portion of the project fee is paid upfront?
Yes! Upfront payments are available for one-time projects only. Remember upfront payments are non-refundable and only apply to a project's first payment.
