"Your packaging might be invisible. Not bad. Not ugly. Just... forgettable." It's one of the more uncomfortable conversations to have with a client — when the work looks fine but strategically misses the mark. When it fits the category so well it disappears into it. The shelf is a crowded place. Every category has a look, and most brands follow it. That's exactly the problem. When I look at how well a package stands out, I focus on four things: color, shape, typography, and positioning. Not as design choices — as competitive advantages. The question isn't whether each element looks good. It's whether the combination is unmistakably theirs. A logo design that got shifted to the reject bin, but I think it's a pretty cool monogram. It was fun working out the interplay between the two letters.

My entry for the Kittle Challenge - A short Ad for a concept coffee roast house, “The Great Owl (https://contra.com/p/B7Fl3AL2-the-great-owl-coffee-roast-house-brand-identity?referralExperimentNid=DEFAULT_REFERRAL_PROGRAM&referrerUsername=amoahdesign)”. The ad had to strategically feature an owl, a visual tie-in to the brand's emblem. I started with a script to help guide the scenes I needed to create. Then I explored with prompting image variations to support the script. I then paired images to create AI video sections. Finally linking all the AI videos together using DaVinci Resolve to create the ad. We created some packaging and animation to showcase and prototype how the packaging would feel to customers before they actually went to large volume manufacture. We used #Figma and #Blender for high quality artwork and 3d design for discussing design options with the client.

Check out this spec ad I made for Vans 👟 I’ve been a HUGE fan of Vans for most of my life; I was even known as “The Vans Girl” in highschool because of how many different pairs I wore! When I saw they finally brought back their Authentic Lowpro’s after years of discontinuing them, I knew I wanted to film a spec ad 🛹 Vans would be a dream client for sure, so this was a fun one to work on! For this project I created the concept & storyboard as well as did the filming and editing; making sure the creative decisions aligned with Vans’ branding. I used a concrete textured surface and black backdrop to add a street feel while still allowing the black/white checkerboard Vans to pop 🎥
