Multi-Platform Content & Operations Support for Grief on Purpose

Overview

Grief on Purpose partnered with me to support its mission of reshaping how we talk about and move through grief. While my role began as a virtual assistant, it quickly expanded into a multifaceted position that spans content creation, podcast editing, digital strategy, and backend support. My goal was to help streamline operations, elevate the brand’s storytelling, and deepen its reach across platforms, all while staying true to the raw, human-centered mission at the heart of the work.

Challenges

As a growing platform in the grief space, Grief on Purpose needed consistent, emotionally resonant content that could connect deeply with its community.
The website required custom tweaks to improve user experience and visual storytelling as well as some updates to language and pages added.
Email marketing and analytics tracking needed strategic implementation to better understand and serve the audience.
Bottlenecks in workflow and communication were slowing down growth across platforms.

My Role

In this highly collaborative and self-driven role, I:
Write and edit emotionally resonant content across platforms, from Instagram captions to full podcast descriptions, blog posts, and newsletters.
Manage and schedule social media posts to maintain a cohesive, supportive presence online.
Edit and produce bi-weekly podcast episodes using Descript, including episode trimming, sound polishing, and publishing.
Create dynamic podcast clips for social media using brand-aligned visuals and captions.
Build and update Squarespace pages, applying custom CSS and troubleshooting layout issues.
Launch and manage email campaigns through Kajabi, including monthly newsletters and promotional sequences.
Analyze website and email metrics to guide content decisions and improve engagement.
Identify operational bottlenecks and implemented streamlined systems for smoother production and communication.

Process

Discovery & Integration
Took a hands-on approach to learning the voice and values of the brand through direct collaboration with the founder.
Audited existing systems and content to identify gaps and opportunities for improvement.
Content & Creative
Developed monthly content plans for social media that balanced vulnerability, support, storytelling, and education.
Wrote copy that reflected the real, gritty emotions behind grief while remaining grounded and hopeful.
Created emotionally powerful podcast descriptions and weekly clips optimized for social sharing.
Tech & Strategy
Customized elements on the Squarespace site using CSS for a cleaner, more professional look.
Set up and managed Kajabi email automations to ensure consistent audience touchpoints.
Compiled and reported analytics from social, site, and email platforms to measure what was working and where to pivot.

Results

Streamlined content and publishing processes, freeing up the founder’s time for bigger-picture strategy and creative development.
Significantly increased engagement across social channels through consistent, mission-driven storytelling.
Improved user experience on the website through subtle but impactful design and content edits.
Established a reliable workflow for podcast production and publishing.

Takeaways

The most impactful content often lives at the intersection of vulnerability and strategy (and it's where I like to be!)
In mission-driven work, consistency and compassion are equally powerful tools.
Behind every thriving brand is a thoughtful back-end system that allows creative work to breathe.
Supporting grief work requires not just skill, but emotional intelligence and presence (and I’ve grown in all three through this role.)
