LinkedIn tells you when a post exceeds the character limit, but not by how much.
My exploration changes the generic error to: “Your post is 100 characters over the 3,000-character limit.”
Same constraint. Clearer recovery. Less guesswork.
Would you rather see the exact over-limit count or a general warning?
