I spent more than 20 years leading complex business operations before I ever started building the technology that automates them.

I spent those years solving the kinds of operational problems that don't show up on a process diagram — keeping teams aligned, fixing broken workflows, improving reporting, managing inventory, and making sure the business kept running when reality didn't follow the plan.

That experience fundamentally changed how I think about technology.

Most developers start with the tool and work backward toward the problem. I start with the operation. I walk through how your team actually works on a Tuesday morning, where the handoffs fail, which spreadsheet everyone is afraid to touch, and what breaks when your best employee calls in sick. Then I design and build the system that makes all of it run without the duct tape.

I architect complete business systems: the website that acquires your customers, the CRM that manages them, the automation that eliminates manual work, the intelligent systems that handle what used to require headcount, and the dashboards that give you real-time visibility into all of it. One architect. One connected system. Everything built to work together from day one.

My builds have eliminated entire manual workflows, cut inventory loss by 7%, saved one company $70,000 a year by replacing a 4-person manual operation with a zero-touch pipeline, and turned multi-hour content production into single-click systems. Every engagement is tied to a measurable business outcome. If it does not move a number, it does not get built.

The technology always follows the business need. Sometimes that's Python and custom APIs. Sometimes it's Airtable, Make, WordPress, Shopify, or AI platforms like OpenAI and Claude. I choose the simplest architecture that solves the problem completely because technology should make your business easier to run, not more complicated to maintain.

My goal isn't to build impressive technology. It's to build systems your team actually enjoys using because they make work simpler, faster, and more reliable.

Longtime clients know me as Rusty. I hold certifications from IBM, Google AI, Zapier, Make, and Airtable. Based in Little Rock, available for project-based and ongoing engagements.

If your business has outgrown the systems that got it this far, I'd love to help you design what comes next.
