Project Objective
To research and collect accurate nutrition information for a variety of food items and input the data into a specified format for use in the Noom app.
Project Scope
Food Item Selection:
Identify a list of food items to be researched, prioritizing popular and frequently consumed items.
Consider a diverse range of food categories, including:
Fruits and vegetables
Grains and cereals
Dairy products
Meat and poultry
Seafood
Processed foods
Beverages
Nutrition Data Research:
Utilize reliable sources of nutrition information, such as:
USDA FoodData Central
Food labels
Nutrition databases
Extract the following key nutrition information for each food item:
Calories
Protein
Carbohydrates
Fat
Fiber
Sugar
Sodium
Vitamins and minerals
Data Cleaning and Formatting:
Ensure data accuracy and consistency.
Convert units of measurement as needed (e.g., grams to ounces).
Format data according to Noom's specific data entry requirements.
Data Entry:
Input the collected nutrition data into the designated Noom system or database.
Double-check data entry for accuracy and completeness.
Quality Assurance:
Conduct regular quality checks to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
Identify and resolve any data discrepancies.
