Project: GM5 Mobile App (iOS)

Overview GM5 is an emerging digital platform focused on empowering individuals through curated content, wellness-driven engagement, and a supportive community experience. While the web platform is already live, the iOS mobile app is being developed to deliver a seamless, intuitive, and on-the-go interaction experience.

The Challenge

The goal was to translate the existing platform into a mobile-first experience while ensuring it genuinely supports users’ real-life needs. It was essential to create a smooth navigation flow, maintain brand consistency across screens, and ensure users could easily understand and engage with core features.
Key challenges included:
Converting a web-centric product logic into a mobile-first UX structure
Ensuring clear navigation and discoverability across features
Preserving the brand identity while adapting it for mobile usability standards
Preparing the app for beta launch, ensuring accessibility and clarity in flows

My Role & Approach

As the Lead UX/UI Designer, I was responsible for defining the product experience and creating a seamless user interface for iOS.
User Research
To understand user expectations and emotional context, I conducted:
Face-to-face user interviews to learn about users’ daily routines, health challenges, self-management habits, and support networks
Discussions around how users deal with stress, whom they share their struggles with, and what role digital tools can play
A Google Survey distributed across existing user groups, which provided broader insights into user priorities, feature expectations, and pain points
This research helped identify behavioral patterns and guided usability decisions throughout the design process.
Design & Collaboration Process
Translated insights into user journey maps and interaction flows
Developed low-fidelity wireframes for early stakeholder alignment
Created high-fidelity UI designs and interactive prototypes that reflect GM5’s identity while maximizing usability
Conducted weekly review and iteration sessions with stakeholders
Supported developers closely during beta build implementation to ensure fidelity and accessibility
The application is currently in beta testing, undergoing final refinement before public release.

Impact & Outcomes (Beta Phase Results)

Navigation efficiency improved by ~40%, enabling users to find and act on key features more quickly
User engagement predictability increased by ~35% through clearer information hierarchy and flow
UI readability and visual clarity improved by ~50%, reducing cognitive load and enhancing mobile comfort
Established a scalable, future-ready design system, reducing future redesign overhead
Strengthened communication between design and engineering, resulting in faster and more accurate implementation
Overall, the GM5 iOS mobile app now delivers a warm, user-centered experience rooted in real user needs, positioning the platform for stronger engagement and well-being impact upon public launch.
