Navigate the work. Don’t just read the resume.

Overview

Most developer portfolios present information as a sequence of pages. This project turns the portfolio into a navigable solar system. Visitors pilot a rocket through a 3D environment, discovering Abhishek Badar’s background, experience, skills, projects, and contact information as spatial waypoints.
The 3D world becomes the information architecture, giving each section a sense of place while keeping the portfolio content directly accessible.

The challenge

A resume can communicate qualifications, but it rarely communicates curiosity, craft, or the feeling of working with someone. The goal was to make technical experience memorable without hiding information behind visual spectacle.

The approach

Space travel became the organizing metaphor. Scroll-based movement becomes navigation, planets and stations become content destinations, and translucent panels keep written content readable inside the scene. A heads-up display layer with section navigation, telemetry, and social links gives the interface the feel of mission control while preserving a clear portfolio structure.

Interaction design

The rocket is the central navigation device. As it moves through the environment, the camera follows with cinematic motion, thrusters respond to movement, and content panels appear at key waypoints.
The Projects section uses a planet’s rings to organize project cards, turning a conventional grid into a spatial system that feels native to the world. The final approach to the Sun gives the Contact section a memorable closing moment and a clear call to action.

Information architecture

01. About Earth and a floating glass panel introduce the positioning: “Full stack, fewer bottlenecks.”
02. Work A space station and professional-experience panel present role and career context.
03. Projects Project cards arranged around a planet’s rings showcase selected experiments and builds.
04. Contact A rocket approaching a glowing Sun closes with: “Let’s make something together.”

What makes it memorable

The concept and content use the same logic. Rather than placing a space background behind a conventional site, the experience uses movement, distance, orbit, and waypoints to explain how the content is organized.
Technical capability is demonstrated through the interface itself: real-time 3D rendering, spatial navigation, dynamic camera movement, responsive HUD feedback, and a content system designed to remain legible inside an immersive scene.

Selected project moments

The journey begins with the rocket launch and portfolio identity, then moves through the About and Work sections before opening into a corridor of skill modules. The Projects section becomes the visual centerpiece, with project cards suspended around a ringed planet. The experience ends at the Sun, where the contact section becomes the final destination.
