KOVA Living - Designing an Ecommerce Experience for Everyday Living
KOVA Living is a concept ecommerce brand for kitchenware, utensils, small appliances, and everyday home essentials. The idea was to create a shopping experience that feels considered and inviting, while still giving products the attention they need.
I wanted the design to feel more like a cohesive home and lifestyle brand than a generic online store. That meant finding the right balance between visual appeal, clear product presentation, and familiar shopping patterns.
Establishing the visual direction
The visual direction pairs a warm sand background with deep navy buttons, creating contrast without making the interface feel harsh. The goal was a calm, contemporary look that allows product imagery and content to stand out.
Rather than relying on too many decorative elements, I focused on spacing, typography, consistent components, and a clear visual hierarchy. The result is a design direction that feels understated but still has a recognizable character.
Designing the shopping experience
An ecommerce website needs to help people move naturally from browsing to making a purchase. I designed the experience around the key stages of that journey, from discovering products to reviewing an individual item and moving through the cart and checkout.
The concept includes a homepage, shop page, product detail page, cart, and checkout. Each screen serves a different purpose, but they share the same visual language and interface patterns so the experience feels connected.
Product pages give individual items their own space, while the broader shop experience supports browsing across the collection. The cart and checkout continue that journey without introducing a completely different design language at the point of purchase.
Building a consistent interface
I developed reusable components and a consistent set of interface styles in Figma to keep the screens aligned. This included typography, colours, buttons, and other recurring UI elements.
The aim was to make the design feel cohesive across multiple pages while creating a foundation that could be extended as the product catalogue grows.
From static screens to an interactive concept
I also developed a prototype to connect the main screens and demonstrate how the shopping experience could flow. This made it possible to explore the concept as a connected journey rather than viewing each page in isolation.
The project includes the core ecommerce screens and design components, with assets prepared for presentation and handoff.
The outcome
KOVA Living is a self-initiated design concept that brings together brand direction, ecommerce UI, reusable components, and an interactive prototype.
More than a collection of polished screens, it explores how a clear visual identity and a structured shopping journey can work together to create a considered online store for everyday home products.
Designed a modern ecommerce concept for kitchenware and home essentials, with a warm visual identity and a shopping experience built around product discovery.
