Ofstars & Magic - Bringing a Fantasy Publishing Website to Life

A fantasy publishing website needs to do more than list books. It should give readers a sense of the world behind the stories while making the publisher’s books and content easy to explore.
Ofstars & Magic is a boutique fantasy publishing brand focused on discovering and publishing imaginative fiction. I worked on the project through Artoria Media, translating the supplied Figma designs into a fully built WordPress website.

The goal

The website needed to bring three parts of the brand together: its fantasy identity, its growing library of content, and its online book sales.
The challenge was to make these experiences feel connected without making the website difficult to navigate. Readers needed to explore the brand and its content, while the business needed a website that could support publishing and ecommerce.

My role

I handled the website implementation, taking the supplied designs from Figma through to the finished WordPress build.
My responsibilities included:
Translating the supplied UI designs into working page layouts
Building the website with WordPress and Avada Builder
Adapting layouts for different screen sizes
Implementing the blog and content sections
Setting up the ecommerce experience for book sales
Styling and refining pages to maintain consistency with the original design
Built with: WordPress, Avada Builder and WooCommerce

Bringing the design to life

The supplied design direction used a dark, immersive aesthetic, with fantasy-inspired imagery and typography to give the website a distinct personality.
My focus was on carrying that direction into the live website while making sure the layouts worked as intended across devices. The result needed to preserve the atmosphere of the design without compromising the practical experience of browsing the site.

Making room for ongoing publishing

For a publishing brand, content is part of the experience, not an extra feature. The website needed to accommodate articles and other published material alongside its core brand and book information.
I implemented the blog and content sections as part of the wider site structure, giving readers another way to explore Ofstars & Magic beyond its books.

Bringing book sales into the experience

The website also needed to support direct book sales. I implemented the ecommerce experience so the publishing brand could present its books and sell them through the same website, rather than separating its content and shopping experience.

The outcome

The finished website brings Ofstars & Magic’s publishing identity, editorial content, and ecommerce functionality together in one place. It gives the brand a live online presence where readers can discover its content and explore its books.
The website is live and currently used by the brand.
