Zhi Clinic is a hair restoration clinic seeking a visual identity that could communicate medical professionalism without feeling cold or clinical.
The project explored two distinct identity directions built around the idea of renewed growth. Both concepts connect hair restoration with botanical forms, natural rhythm, and a calm sense of care, while remaining clear and credible in a healthcare environment.
THE CHALLENGE
Hair restoration is both a medical service and a highly personal experience. The identity needed to build trust, communicate expertise, and make clients feel comfortable, while avoiding the aggressive or overly technical visual language often associated with treatment brands.
The design also had to work bilingually, adapt to storefront signage, and remain recognizable across different scales and environments.
CREATIVE STRATEGY
The central idea was to connect professional treatment with the visual language of natural regeneration. Restrained green tones, organic imagery, structured typography, and carefully controlled geometry were used to balance science with warmth.
Two concept routes were developed to explore different expressions of the same positioning.
DIRECTION 01 - BOTANICAL STRUCTURE
The first direction uses a framed botanical symbol to express controlled growth and professional care. Its geometric construction gives the mark a clinical sense of precision, while the plant-inspired form introduces softness and renewal.
The logo was constructed on a clear grid and developed in both horizontal and vertical arrangements to support different communication formats.
The visual system combines a deep botanical green with cool neutrals. Afacad supports the English typography, while the Chinese wordmark maintains a composed and professional character.
Soft botanical photography and translucent natural textures create a calm visual world that feels restorative rather than clinical.
Storefront applications demonstrate how the identity remains visible and credible in a real clinic environment.
BRAND EXTENSION - SKINCARE PACKAGING
The selected visual language was extended into a skincare range designed to support the clinic experience beyond the treatment space. The packaging carries the same botanical green, restrained typography, bilingual information structure, and precise use of white space, creating a clear connection between professional care and daily skincare.
The facial mask box applies the identity across both front- and back-facing layouts, balancing a minimal consumer-facing presentation with detailed product information and usage instructions.
The individual sheet-mask pouch continues the system at a smaller scale. Its bold green field, centered label, and structured reverse layout preserve brand recognition while keeping functional information easy to navigate.
DIRECTION 02 - LAYERED GROWTH
The second direction introduces a more minimal symbol built from horizontal organic layers. The repeated lines suggest hair, landscape, and gradual growth, creating a quieter and more contemporary expression of renewal.
The symbol was refined through a geometric grid and paired with bilingual wordmark arrangements for flexible use.
This route uses a softer green, warm sand, and charcoal palette. The combination creates a welcoming, premium tone while retaining the clarity required for healthcare communication.
The supporting imagery emphasizes movement, softness, light, and natural surfaces, reinforcing the idea of healthy regeneration.
The final signage studies show how the layered symbol can function independently while remaining connected to the clinic name.

OUTCOME
The project delivered two strategically connected but visually distinct identity routes. Each direction translates the clinic's promise of professional hair restoration into a complete visual language, giving stakeholders a clear basis for evaluating tone, recognition, and environmental impact before selecting a final direction.
Rather than presenting isolated logo options, the concepts were tested as working brand systems across typography, color, imagery, bilingual layouts, and real-world signage.
