Challenge:

When I started at Flagship, I created my role from scratch after taking over the channels from the content manager. No "Social Media Manager" had ever existed before me. I shortly found out that this role was far more of a "Director" position than a "Manager" one.
I rose to that challenge and many more in the 2 years I was employed on the Marketing team—overcoming the challenges of the pandemic and a senior leadership team that believed social media success was based purely on popularity.
When I left the company, I created an internal "playbook" for running social media marketing filled with my learnings, tips / tricks, etc. I hoped my predecessor would add to it.

Process:

What I managed at Flagship:
While working remotely during the pandemic, I managed the brand presence for 7 corporate social media channels (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, 2 Facebook Pages, LinkedIn (including a LinkedIn showcase page) via monitoring social media accounts, create/schedule posts, & engage users with a consistent voice across all social touch-points
Delivered reporting for social media ROIs / KPIs companywide that analyzes the long-term needs of the company’s social media strategy
Partnered with HR & Recruitment to increases engagement with our 5,000+ employees & welcome more employees into the Flagship Family
Assisted the creative team in developing deliverables for campaigns including designing Social Media graphics (Canva or Adobe Suite)
Analyzed the long-term needs of the company’s social media strategy & offer quarterly reports to the executive teams
Managed external agencies, overseeing campaign strategy, design, & implementation
Coordinated social media content with PR & internal communications for earned media coverage, announcements, & events
Assessed strategy, content creation, reporting & analysis, & community management to develop social media campaigns for sales goals
Maintained a social media crisis management plan, employee advocacy program, & D&I programs

✦ I successfully reinvented our employee advocacy program and recruitment process through branding, community management, diversity and inclusion initiatives, and social media campaigns using Facebook ads, Hubspot landing pages, and CTR-optimized funnels, decreasing recruitment spend by over $250k per year.

Our IDEA social media groups & blog won "Honorable Mention" at the Ragan Communications & PR Daily Awards for Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Commitment. (Other Honorable Mentions included the College of DuPage, The Walt Disney Company, & John Hancock.)
