Redesigned Trillium’s website to reduce spam and boost trust, creating a modern, minimal experience tailored to homeowners and property managers aged 30–60 through research-driven UI decisions.

Well from the title, it’s a WOODWORKS company. Approached by the owner Dylan I was tasked with creating his online presence. Before he had a little word document that was dabbling as a website, it was quite the site, if you are looking for someone online and you find this, you’d probably think you’re getting scammed, so me and Dylan laughed about it and jumped right into working on it.

The goal was to establish an online presence that conveys professionalism, modern design, and friendliness, and most importantly, makes sure the customer gets the vibe of complete confidence in potential clients.

The best person to ask was Dylan himself. As a seasoned pro at his job, me and Dylan spent around 6 hours talking about all things trees, safety, clients, business, and competitors. I found out that most of his clientele are people above the age of 50 that live in rural areas and have had some sort of incident after a storm that need to clear out some trees in a safe manner as to avoid destroying their property. This was really important, as it will dictate the direction of the website.

So I set out to interview some of his clients, what they were looking for, how they found Dylan, and why they chose Dylan over someone else. The results were fairly simple, it’s because Dylan had a picture of himself cutting huge trees near expensive looking houses. Very surprising, but to them, that was the reason.

It is now 2025, looking back, this was probably the most fun I’ve had on a project. Working with Dylan was a blast, he introduced me to the world of tree cutting, and I was considering it as a job!! Funny enough I was at my uncles house and he was cutting some extremely large trees and I was able to contribute due to what Dylan has showed me. I’m glad the website turned out great!
