OVERVIEW
Merit Circle is a decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) that aims to revolutionize the gaming industry by creating opportunities for crypto and gaming enthusiasts. Its goal is to build the metaverse through investments in the gaming industry and by distributing assets to gamers, creators, and contributors around the world. The platform in development will host gaming opportunities, educational content, and other resources for those interested in the decentralized gaming industry.
The Merit Circle DAO is composed of a main DAO that governs several sub-DAOs, and is maintained by various independent parties and individuals through governance. The $MC token empowers holders and a great focus has been placed on diversification in the portfolio of games and choice of infrastructure partners.

HOW DOES THE STAKING MODULE HELP THE BUSINESS?
Staking in the Merit Circle network ensures the security of the blockchain by ensuring a sufficient number of active users validate transactions. This helps prevent malicious actors from gaining control and causing harm.
WHO’S THE STAKING MODULE FOR THOUGH?
Merit Circle is for web 3.0 enthusiasts who share the same vision of a decentralized future and believe in what Merit Circle is building.
WHAT’S THE VALUE PROPOSITION OF THE STAKING MODULE FOR IT’S USERS?
By participating in the network as a staker and helping to secure it, individuals can earn additional Merit Circle as a reward. These rewards are intended to encourage continued participation and support for the network's security. This can also provide an opportunity for users to earn passive income from their cryptocurrency holdings.
WHY REFACTOR THE STAKING PLATFORM?
Flexibility is important.
To improve options, flexibility, and longevity in the staking module. It proposed a hard number for next year's (2023) MC subsidy and bonus multipliers for stakers in the governance module.
Rewards incentives.
To allow for staking rewards in the form of airdrops, potential other forms of rewards, bonus and discount tiers on Merit Circle DAO products. The ultimate goal was to phase out the staking v1 platform once the deposit of the last staker under staking v1 has been unlocked.
Product visual cohesion
Merit Circle, being in its early phase of development didn’t have a cohesive visual language. Each product had its own visual language, and they needed to be cohesive.

THE BEAUTY OF DECENTRALIZATION
Merit Circle as a DAO ensures that every member of the community has a voice and a say in the governance of the DAO. So for any decision to be made, proposals are put forward , and votes are cast. This process ensures transparency and a democratic decision-making process, which helps to validate the needs of the members of the DAO.

Current visual direction
From the images above you can tell that the staking platform needed some work visually.
Inconsistent branding and visual language.
The margins and paddings were off.

I and my design lead tried to reimagine how the new staking platform could look with the information we had extracted from our meetings with the team. One thing that we were big on though was multiple iterations, we made sure that for every page or component we had as many options to choose from, and we made design decisions based on sound ux principles.
