Recipe Development Web Platform UX/UI Design | FouChef

FouChef is an innovative digital platform for chefs and culinary enthusiasts who want to enhance, edit and perfect their recipes.

The platform lets users build recipe families with multiple versions, rate every iteration, compare variants side by side and share their best dishes.

Our goal was to design a dynamic web platform where creativity meets precision, so that refining a dish feels as structured as a lab experiment and as inspiring as cooking itself.

Recipe development is an iterative process. Chefs change ingredients, amounts and techniques, then taste and adjust again. These changes usually end up scattered across notebooks, notes and files, which makes it hard to track what worked and why.

The challenge was to design a web platform that keeps every version of a dish organized, makes comparisons easy and still feels simple and pleasant to use for both professionals and home cooks.

We started with discovery: research and competitor analysis to understand how existing cooking tools handle recipes and where they fall short.

Then we moved into user experience: we built the information architecture around the home page, recipes, recipe variants, recipe page, comparison, ingredients, profile and sign-up / log-in flows, and created wireframes for the key screens.

In the user interface stage, we explored concepts, designed the final UI, adapted the platform for different screen sizes and built a design system with a full UI kit.

Users create a new recipe family and add multiple versions to perfect a dish. Every iteration is tracked with dates, ratings and changes, so it's easy to see how the recipe evolved. Changes to a recipe family can be made instantly.

A clean editor makes it easy to create a detailed recipe with photos, servings, ingredients grouped by stage, amounts, step-by-step instructions and personal notes. An ingredients and units library keeps measurements consistent.

An intuitive comparison page lets users put a control recipe and an experiment recipe side by side, with notes visible. Each dish can be rated on taste, aroma, appearance and texture, with tasting notes and detailed statistics for deeper insights.

Users receive notifications and can sort them quickly, with fully customizable settings. A friendly support flow guides new users through each page and is available anytime to explain the core principles of the platform.

The final design gives FouChef a structured, highly personalized web platform where chefs can experiment, compare and perfect their recipes in one place.

Sora typography ensures clear readability for recipes and notes, while a bold red primary color with green and yellow accents gives the interface an energetic, culinary feel backed by a consistent UI kit.
